Background:

     The New Hackensack Nursery School, a non-sectarian, non-profit organization, is sponsored by the New Hackensack Reformed Church. The Nursery Board is overseen by the Consistory of the Church and is the governing body of the Nursery School. The Nursery School Board is made up of Church and community volunteers.
     The New Hackensack Nursery School was established in 1965 by a group of mothers who felt that the four-year-old was a very special individual who required a special kind of nursery school: We believe that four-year-olds learn best by exploring, investigating and interacting in a friendly and challenging environment.  By presenting a wide variety of experiences and materials, we encourage children to make their own discoveries and learn to put these discoveries into words.
     The three-year-old program was established in 1971 This early nursery school experience should give the child an opportunity to play with children of his/her own age in a setting where  the toys, equipment, and routine are arranged to suit his/her level of maturity; give the child a life of  his/her own where home is no longer the sole focus; and allow him/her to grow under the direction of loving, qualified adults.

Program:

     The four-year-old program consists of  three 2½ hour sessions per week on  Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the morning or afternoon, or two 2½  hour sessions on Tuesday and Thursday in the morning or afternoon.
     The three-year-old program consists of two 2½ hour sessions per week  on Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday in the morning or afternoon.

Registration:

 Your child must be three or four years of age by December 1st (two years before kindergarten for the 3's, one year before kindergarten for the 4's).  Registration for the fall term usually begins in February. For additional information  please contact:
