The Rev. Dr. Marie
Sheldon
A
native of the Chicago area, Marie spent most of her adult life in New
York State. Before going to New Brunwick Theological Seminary,
she enjoyed a diverse career in New York City – working in the
classical music business (RCA Records, the New York Philharmonic) –
teaching fourth and fifth grades – writing and editing for various
fashion/beauty companies.
Marie received her M. Div. degree from New Brunswick Theological
Seminary, and went on to receive an STM in Biblical Studies from Union
Theological Seminary (New York). Her first call was to First
Presbyterian Church in Poughkeepsie, where she served two years as an
associate interim pastor. From there, she went on to serve as a
solo pastor for ten years at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Rochester,
NY. While at Lakeside, Marie received her D. Min. in Church
Revitalization from McCormick Theological Seminary. Then she
accepted a call to serve as Associate Pastor of Christian Education at
Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie, MD.
For
fun, Marie enjoys traveling and caring for her two toy poodles, Monica
and Andrew.
